Today was my son’s fifth birthday party so I need a pair of shoes that were comfortable and practical for running around the Children’s Museum.

So if you haven’t heard it is in the 20s in Louisiana which is unheard of.  This unfortunate weather is really putting a damper on my shoe challenge.  I am having to ration my really good shoes that go with everything for days later in the month b/c I am too afraid to use them now and not be able to use them later lol.

Today I didn’t have any meetings so I dressed very casual with a pair of Old Navy Jeggings, a black turtleneck form NY&CO that I love, a cute swingy coat from Forever 21 and these adorable flats by Quipd and as always my Michael Kors watch.  I am including an actual photo because these are a bit old and can no longer be found online.  They are a bronze color and I love wearing brown and black together (case in point my outfit from yesterday) so I think they worked well with my casual Wednesday look.  What do you think?

These shoes are great all year round, ok maybe not in the dead of winter like today but they do work well with jeans, dresses, skirts etc.

I love peices that are versatile and there is nothing more versatile in your closet than a menswear styled oxford shirt.  It can be super casual and comfortable and also really sexy and chic.  Try the oxford top in basic colors like white, chambray or pink these colors allow you to work the shirt into your wardrobe in the most ways possible.

As far as fit goes look for something that has a traditional shape but that is fit slimly against your figure.  Make sure that the buttons do not pull at the bust and that it can be buttoned from top to button without pulling.

Today I had a casual outing of lunch and shopping with my family and I paired an oxford shirt with skinny jeans, Michael Kors watch and flats.  I wore a really feminine ballet flat and floral studs which I think was a nice pairing with the masculinity of the shirt.  I felt like the outfit was effortless but I felt chic none the less.

Another great thing about the oxford shirt is that an outfit like the one above that is really casual can be turned into an outfit fit for a date with a few simple changes like adding a pop of color in the heel and to the cheeks.  Adding a daintier earring and a chic clutch.

One of the best things about having a daughter is being able to dress in her the cutest clothing.  While shoping the other day I came across Jeggings for babies. That’s right jean leggings for babies.

Not only are these types of leggings really popular for women they are the perfect thing for babies as the normal waistband of denim, even for babies cuts into their little bellies.

These cute jean leggings can be found at The Children’s Place.  Not only are they super cute but they are SUPER cheap! $10.50.  They are also super versatile and can be worn with anything.  They would even be cute with boots on top or with a sweater in the winter.  Luna Jane hasn’t tried hers out yet but she is really excited to accessorize them in all sorts of ways.
